Role summary

This is an On-site role; the incumbent will be required to attend on-site client meetings and work out of the Pickering office from time to time as required by your direct supervisor.  

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team to protect our organization and our client from cyberattacks by monitoring systems and evaluating threats as they arise. A Cybersecurity Analyst’s responsibilities include reviewing computer networks and identifying any potential vulnerabilities, installing the necessary software in order to protect it from unauthorized access, and documenting detections so that future breaches can be mitigated efficiently. 

Ultimately, you will defend an organization’s computer hardware, software and other systems from theft, loss and other cyberattacks.

Key responsibilities

  • Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause 
  • Work with the security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities 
  • Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard 
  • Stay current on Information Technology (IT) security trends and news 
  • Develop company-wide best practices for IT security 
  • Perform penetration testing 
  • Help colleagues install security software and understand information security management 

Technical requirements

  • You don’t need any experience. New Graduates are welcome to apply.  
  • Knowledge of information security or related field 
  • Knowledge of computer network penetration testing and techniques 
  • Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus and IDPS concepts 
  • Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred 
  • Understanding of the Security & Compliance aspects of M365  
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripts for effective analysis, administration, and deployment activities is an asset.  
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present technical solutions to various audiences
  • Strong technical aptitude and a quick problem-solving ability to think outside the box while troubleshooting and providing innovative solutions   
  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment 
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work effectively and work under pressure while managing conflicting priorities and deadlines   
  • Solution-centric approach and customer-oriented attitude.    
  • Microsoft Certifications: MS-100 and MS-700 will be considered an asset
