About The Role

Lai and Associates is a fast-growing start-up based in Pickering, Ontario. We act as a Microsoft Tier 1 Cloud Solutions Provider, and have been offering a blend of standard cloud solutions services, custom app design and productivity solutions to our growing clientele, all leveraging the Microsoft 365 toolset.

Along with these custom IT services, are E-Learning and Communication products built for clients across health care, manufacturing and municipal applications. These independent yet intermingled services are essential for client software adoption, resident and employee engagement, staff and supplier onboarding and training purposes.

Focused on the Microsoft 365 suite and Azure cloud services, we have finetuned a core suite of services, that requires an individual excited and able to help pilot our solutions, assist our Technical Leads and move at the pace of both the client and the company in meeting service and solution demands.

About The Successful Applicant

You are results-oriented and you have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reporting to the Lead Consultant – Microsoft 365 and IT Solutions, you are responsible for performing setup, configuration and ongoing monitoring of the Office 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Yammer, Active Directory services, and Teams.

With an ear for listening and an eye for observation, you excel at developing and maintaining system-related documentation to facilitate implementation and/or adoption of system changes, as well as end-user training.

What You’ll Need

  • 3 to 5 years progressive Infrastructure and online admin (MS Office 365) experience.
  • Expert knowledge of PowerShell and the Exchange Online PowerShell V2 module.
  • Microsoft Office 365, design, build, and administration experience.
  • Proficient with Windows Server (including services – DNS, DHCP, etc.), Active Directory, System Center, SQL, WSUS, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple, concurrent and conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • Good verbal, written, and presentation skills (English)
  • Ability to think outside the box and beyond the current solution to identify new and improved solutions – can identify an idea logically, document the overall solution and the technology and successfully deliver the solution
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment
  • Exceptional and proven technical, analytical, organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a clear understanding of customer impact and business requirements.
  • Extremely developed troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
  • An exceptionally motivated and technical individual with experience in numerous aspects of Information Technology
  • Excellent ability to utilize available tools to effectively obtain results
  • Ability to mentor other team members through knowledge transfer
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Windows applications (Word, Excel, Access, Internet Explorer, etc.)
  • Technical writing including documentation of procedures

What’s To Do

  • Maintain company MPN and CSP workspaces including generating and updating CPOR and Customer Association documentation as needed, for tasks completed with Microsoft Cloud Solutions customers.
  • Administer the Office 365 Collaboration tools and Microsoft Azure AD Platforms.
  • Manage Exchange, DL’s, mailboxes, SharePoint sites and other areas of the Office 365 admin screens.
  • With minimal supervision, assists in the research, design, planning, implementation, maintenance and support of existing services, and works with systems administrators to research, plan, design, implement and support existing and emerging 0365 Technologies
  • Assist the setup, configuration and maintenance required for new and upgraded applications according to industry best practices and/or standards.
  • Performs setup, configuration and ongoing monitoring of the Office 365 environment (i.e. email monitoring, the configuration of security settings, event log and backup monitoring)
  • Track projects and system incidents through to resolution via the IT ticket tracking system and the various IT Logs
  • Develop and maintain system-related documentation to facilitate implementation and/or adoption of system changes
  • Take ownership of backup and recovery solution and ensures all necessary systems and data are backed up and can be reliably restored.
  • Ensure systems are designed and implemented with High Availability and Disaster recovery
  • Other related duties as assigned

As an associate, you will be onboarded into our environment and jumped into any one of dozens of projects that may call for IT solutioning.

You’ll be an active part of building and supporting the Azure environment for custom E-Learning projects. Utilizing Dynamics 365 CRM, you’ll manage Tiered Managed Services for Microsoft clients, and best of all, you’ll shadow the Lead Consultant from the supportive yet forward-facing role for all new solutions.

Supported by communications from the video production, design and animation team, your IT solutions will be brought to life with clients, boosting adoption and encouraging productivity through the Microsoft suite. Ultimately, you will be a part of a fast-growing team at the center of a company involved in many exciting projects across a small but growing roster of quality clients.
