Microsoft Nonprofit Pricing

Nonprofits should not have to pay full price for essential technology.

Lai and Associates helps eligible nonprofit organizations access Microsoft’s discounted and donated licensing programs — and we manage the entire process from eligibility assessment through approval.

Many organizations attempt the application on their own and get denied. Unclear processes, incorrect documentation, and missing details are the most common reasons. We handle the complexity so your team can focus on your mission.

Smart technology. Lower costs. Greater impact.

What Microsoft Nonprofit Pricing Includes

Once your organization is approved, you gain access to Microsoft’s nonprofit licensing tier. That can mean:

Discounted or donated Microsoft 365 licenses

This can include email, Teams, SharePoint, and Office apps.

Secure, professional-grade tools

For collaboration, file sharing, and communication.

Improved productivity

Across staff and volunteers with enterprise-quality software.

Technology that scales

With you as your organization grows — without enterprise-level costs.

The Nonprofit Eligibility Assessment

The Microsoft Nonprofit Eligibility Assessment is a guided review led by Lai and Associates to help your organization be recognized by Microsoft as a qualified nonprofit. Although the final adjudication is done by Microsoft, many organizations are unsuccessful on their own due to unclear processes or incorrect data.

What we do:

  • Review your nonprofit status and eligibility
  • Confidentially collect and verify the information Microsoft requires from your team
  • Submit and manage the nonprofit application process alongside your IT team
  • Assess and address any issues if your application is initially declined
  • Identify potential cost savings and licensing options once approved

What we need from you:

  • An authorized representative of your organization
  • Permission to submit information and applications on your organization’s behalf
  • Official details required by Microsoft’s eligibility process

The assessment requires a dedicated time commitment from the designated account signatory and your IT team. Our senior experts work directly with your team to execute every required step.

What Happens If You Are Not Approved?

If your organization completes the assessment and does not qualify for Microsoft Nonprofit pricing, your assessment fee is applied as a credit toward future services with Lai & Associates. Credits cannot be applied to Microsoft license costs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Microsoft Nonprofit pricing?

Microsoft offers discounted and donated licenses to qualifying nonprofit organizations. This includes Microsoft 365 plans with email, Teams, SharePoint, Office apps, and more — at significantly reduced cost or free, depending on your eligibility tier.

How do I know if my organization qualifies?

Eligibility is determined by Microsoft based on your organization’s legal nonprofit status, mission, and structure. Our assessment reviews your documentation and prepares a complete application to give you the best chance of approval.

Why do some organizations get denied?

The most common reasons are incomplete applications, incorrect organizational data, or documentation that does not meet Microsoft’s specific requirements. Our process is designed to prevent these issues before submission.

Why is there a fee for the assessment?

The assessment requires senior consulting expertise, direct collaboration with your IT team, and access to your technical environment. The fee ensures we can deliver the process to our professional standard. If you are not approved, the fee is credited toward future services.

How long does the process take?

Timelines vary depending on your organization’s readiness and Microsoft’s review cycle. We manage the process end-to-end and keep you informed at every step.

How will Lai and Associates help us after we are approved?

Yes. We are a Tier 1 Microsoft Cloud Solutions Provider. Once you have nonprofit licensing, we help with implementation, migration, training, and ongoing managed services — all optimized for nonprofit budgets.
