Meet Maria
Maria didn’t just start a new job during a pandemic, she started her career. In what could have been a stressful time to launch herself into the professional world, she used her curiosity and excitement for creative work to learn quickly about something she loves: production.
“Seeing the production side is so fun,” Maria says as she describes working on Town Hall meetings for Lai and Associates client, AirBoss, “I can see all the work that goes into [a Virtual Town Hall], and the creativity.”
Maria currently studies global business and digital arts at the University of Waterloo. She hopes to translate her work experience as a production assistant at Lai and Associates into a career in digital media marketing. She brings creative skills to a diverse team of communicators and IT specialists.
“Creativity in a company like this is so important, and I see it in everyone who works here,” she says. “Instead of seeing a problem as just a problem, you see it as an opportunity.”
The best part of working at Lai and Associates? The people, of course. “The teamwork and collaboration at this company is what makes it extra special,” Maria notes, “We work together like a well-oiled machine. Everyone depends on each other and the end product is always amazing.”
The employees aren’t the only people happy with Lai and Associates. As the old adage goes: Happy employees, happy customers.
“Our teamwork and collaboration set us apart from the competition,” Maria says, “We do e-learning, video production, we create apps, and we do communication design. We focus on making sure the client is comfortable and happy with any product we create for them.”
Starting a new job at a time when the world was unpredictable would have fazed anyone, but Maria threw herself in.
“It was a new job full of new people, and I didn’t know exactly what to expect, but I went for it and I’m so glad I did.”
